What other mechanics would you like to see? Machine Intelligences have Rogue Defense Systems (Determined Exterminators), Autonomous Service Grids (Rogue Servitors), Catalog Indexes (Driven Assimilators), Intelligent Research Links, and Industrial Production Cores. What could this look like in game? Maybe a radical reshaping of the leader system, or massive buffs against unemployment and deviancy. A central intelligence that never needs to teach a future generation or learn lessons all over again, but retains and builds upon knowledge over centuries and millennia. There's the ability to centrally plan perfectly, not having to predict or guess what all the components of the civilization want or need. What benefits does this have? Well, there's perfect, instantaneous communication not between every planet, but every pop. Think Pando - a grove of aspens that looks like a forest but is actually a single tree. A Hive Mind that looks upon other civilizations with horror, just as we would look upon a rolling mass of eyeballs or billions of scuttling fingers. A Hive Mind where "we" makes no sense because there is only I. A single organism, where every part that *looks* independent is really no more independent than our fingers are. However, the vanilla hive mind flavor is something stranger. Progenitor Hive Minds are more akin to ants or bees - a family that tends to operate in a unison seemingly unachievable by normal organics, with some form of central control. One thing I'd love to see more of is more expansion and exploration of what it means to be a single organism in the galaxy. However, they're still often cited as one of the least-focused on parts of the game. So with the advent of the Progenitor Hive Mind, we have one of the most significant steps forward in Hive Mind mechanics for a long time. /r/Xenonion (Stellaris' Finest News Source).Twitter account of Daniel Moregard, Stellaris director.Result: Paradox is Swedish" Websites and Wikis Please use proper spoiler formatting if you are going to discuss spoiler content in non-spoiler threads: >!Paradox is Swedish!< Please mark a thread for spoilers if there's spoilers in the main post or if there's going to be open discussion of spoilers in the comments To avoid spoiling narrative surprises for others, please adhere to the following guidelines: If you want stricter quality control, go to /r/ParadoxPlaza BANNED TOPICĬontent that breaks the spirit of these rules may be removed at moderator discretion.
